Convergence involves the installation of different types of growing filamentous fungi in a glass container. The way in which these fungi are spread draws a representation of the earth’s surface, ie a world map. Mushrooms, preserved with resin, refer to the notion of still life. Also part of the work those elements that reflect the research process: photocopies of mycology books, pencil drawings that imitate the growth of fungi, notes, photographs and laboratory test plates. So, you get the picture from the organ systems, linking in this case a microscopic event with other events at the macro level, with particular emphasis on the relationship between art and science, order and chaos. It manifests itself in this way, an interest in the intersections between different sciences and interdisciplinary work.
The project was developed in conjunction with Temporary Gallery and Microbiology Laboratory of Medical Center of the Catholic University of Chile.
