The syntopy between art and technoscience produces a high degree of movement and instability, being particularly versatile for art-making using light and vibration media.

Connections between art and science : astronomy as an example

In this exhibition refers to the similarities and differences in the field of art and science , particularly astronomy. Emphasis is placed on simplifying processes , analogy, beauty and harmony , which are similar in both scientific and artistic work , and how these concepts have flooded even unconsciously both disciplines. Finally, we address the differences in art and science in the process of understanding the world around us .
Space travel through the arts

Astronomy has always been a great inspiration to the arts. From the sixteenth century paintings are records where represents the interpretation of the stars and the events that happen in the sky . Moreover, since the nineteenth century , some artists accompanied the explorers to the borders of the Americas for the lands discovered paintings in order to document their travels. Today , images of stars, galaxies and planets have created a huge database , which is rapidly expanding. It is this same database which allows connections between astronomers and artists, where a realistic image is used to understand the physical phenomena observed or a surreal image is created with imagination as the only limit. Considering the large number of telescopes and satellites that exist, and those that have not come , it is clear that we have too much information waiting to be analyzed. Currently , different data visualization techniques give us the opportunity to understand , disseminate and explore new frontiers in astronomy. Besides presenting an account of the history of the connection between astronomy and art , it speaks of how contemporary artists use astronomical data taken from the use of different telescopes. You could say that we are entering a stage of adventure, an adventure for both artists and scientists , as for the human species in general.
Interaction between art and astronomy in the space of the overlap of ideas : creativity , change, perspective and Beauty

The astronomical science and art are two seemingly distant and unrelated disciplines . Astronomy , scientific method and attached to systematic observation of the phenomena of the sky , aims to clarify the operation of the macrocosm by using laws and rational models . Art, on the other hand, due to expression of the human spirit that seeks to transcend through artistic works such as poems , paintings and movies. Astronomy aims to extract information from the macrocosm to discover rational relations between its parts. Art, on the other hand, seeks to provoke and communicate looking , probably a realization and a reason to exist . This presentation will show some fundamental differences and links between the two disciplines , understood as manifestations of the spirit and the human mind. Also indicated are the regions of overlap between art and astronomy, for example , creativity , change , perspective and beauty. This overlap of ideas could also be between art and other sciences. He further explains how astronomical objects have in certain forms of art and how classically artistic concepts such as shape and color serve the astronomer in his representation of the cosmos. Finally , the emphasis is on the fact that dialogue between science and art can be fruitful if this space is based on overlay , ie generating those ideas that are common .
Ars Electronica and astronomy

Ars Electronica is a unique international platform for digital art and media culture . It has four divisions : a festival of art ( Ars Electronica Festival) , a competition that awards highlight the work done in the area (Prix Ars Electronica ) , a museum that has an educational mission ( Ars Electronica Center) and laboratory medial art has R & D and industrial applications for artwork .
Ars Electronica Center reopened with a new configuration in 2009 , incorporating new research topics . Areas where the most controversial and innovative advances are being emerge : the so-called social sciences and scanning processes allow us to look rather more distant domains that we can see with our eyes. In other words , it has to do with new ways of seeing the human being. The images burrow into our skin , because they reveal what was hidden inside us and bring to light knowledge are constantly changing our world view and our view of humanity .
ECI is an astrophotography European conference to be held in the Ars Electronica Center on a biennial basis . Recent developments in camera market , new techniques and technologies are discussed here astrophotography . Generally speaking , the astro depends on a multiplicity of factors, many of which are seemingly insignificant details . For this reason, part of ECI not only lectures, but also workshops and training sessions . It is something for everyone, both beginners and experts.
