Demian Schopf

Demian Schopf (Germany, 1975) lives and works in Santiago de Chile. He holds a BA in Fine Arts from Universidad Arcis, a MFA from Universidad de Chile, and is actually a PhD student from the same house of studies. His work has been shown in Chile and abroad. In 2007 he won the Altazor Award for his work Condor Machine, and in 2009 one of the prizes of Vida 12.0 given by Fundación Telefónica, Madrid for his work Sewing Machine. He obtained the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship in two opportunities for internships at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne. Between 2008 and 2012 he obtained the Chilean CONICYT fund for scientific and technological investigation. He won the Chilean FONDART fund in eight opportunities. In 2005, he obtained the Creation and Artistic Investigation Scholarship from Fundación Andes, Chile and in 2006 the Friends of Art Scholarship, Chile.
