Research Line
The botanical drawing is a natural building what part from an anthropocentric view and not from the same specimen. In the visual features illustration, reflect more the culture that produced that represent properties of the specimen. The Natural Sciences have and continue to compose scientific representations of nature to colonization and furthermore project social and political notions about other living species and territories. In other words, scientific illustrations are a mirror of the culture that made ​​and way of organizing and understanding the cosmos.
My research focuses attention on the nature of contemporary search. If specimens were previously unique and physically moved for further study, the action of seeking and finding the field has moved virtual body mobility modifying a static visual journey. Being saturated with information on the web, how to make sense of this information? As scientific images being produced by naturalists may reflect or challenge the relationship of contemporary cultures with the idea of nature?
