Graciela Taquini (Argentina) lives and works in Buenos Aires. She is a video-art and new media pioneer. From 1988 onwards she produces work on video and new media as coordinator, researcher, curator and artist. Her academic experience includes: undergraduate studies in Art History at the Philosophy and Literature Faculty of Universidad de Buenos Aires; number member of the Fine Arts National Academy; advisor teacher at Multimedia Design School of Maimónides University; coordinator of Visual Arts Curatorial Studies at UNTREF; teacher of the Expanded Curatorial Practices at UNTREF. In 2011 she exhibit a retrospective of her work at Cronopios Hall at Centro Cultural Recoleta, which was also shown in 2012 at Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo in Montevideo, Uruguay. Some of her works are part of national and international collections. She has been awarded with the following prizes: Reconocimiento a la realización y difusión del video cultural (1984); First Video Prize Brasil (2005); Multimedia Performance Award from Asociación Argentina de Críticos de Arte (2005); Diploma Konex for video-art (2012); Konex Platinum (2012); Premio Igualdad Cultural from the Cultural Ministry of Argentina (2013). She has produced and written books and other publications about video and new media history.
